Dr. Anthony Kallas Chemaly is a fellowship-trained pediatric urologist practicing at Hôtel-Dieu de France (HDF) in Beirut, Clemenceau Medical Center (CMC), and Mount Lebanon Hospital. He holds an MD from Université Saint-Joseph (USJ) and a sub-specialty in pediatric urology from Université libre de Bruxelles, with advanced training at Hôpital Robert-Debré in Paris, Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital in Brussels, and Hôpital Femme Mère-Enfant in Lyon.
His work combines daily clinical practice with academic research. He is certified as a da Vinci Xi Console Surgeon (IRCAD, Strasbourg, 2025) and won first prize at the Olympus Endoscopic Competition during EUREP 2014 in Prague, organized by the European School of Urology.
He treats children from birth through adolescence for the full spectrum of pediatric urological conditions — from hypospadias and vesicoureteral reflux to posterior urethral valves, prune-belly syndrome, bladder dysfunction, kidney stones, varicocele, inguinal hernia, and congenital anomalies of the urinary tract. He consults in Arabic, French, and English.
Since 2017, more than 1,850 families in Lebanon have entrusted Dr. Anthony Kallas Chemaly with the urologic care of their children, reflecting a sustained pediatric volume of roughly 200 cases per year. Since 2021, families across the Gulf have also turned to him for more than 350 complex pediatric urology cases when they needed specialized evaluation, second opinions, and advanced surgical care.

Conditions Treated
From prenatal diagnosis to adolescent surgery — each condition has a dedicated page with symptoms, diagnosis, treatment options, and answers to parents' questions.
Persistent nighttime wetting beyond age 5–6 years. A thorough evaluation identifies underlying causes — from behavioral factors to bladder dysfunction — leading to targeted treatment.
تبول ليلي عند الأطفال · pipi au lit enfant · child bedwetting treatment Learn more →Urgency, daytime accidents, holding maneuvers, recurrent UTIs, or incomplete emptying can all reflect bladder dysfunction. Treatment may include bowel management, uroflowmetry, medication, and retraining.
اضطراب وظيفة المثانة عند الأطفال · dysfonction vésicale enfant · bladder dysfunction child Learn more →A rare congenital condition where the bladder develops outside the body. Requires staged surgical reconstruction — often beginning in the newborn period — to close the bladder, repair the abdominal wall, and preserve kidney function and future continence.
انقلاب المثانة عند الأطفال · exstrophie vésicale enfant · bladder exstrophy repair child Learn more →Surgical removal of the foreskin, performed for medical, religious, or cultural reasons. In children with hypospadias or certain penile conditions, circumcision must be deferred and performed only by a pediatric urologist to preserve tissue needed for future repair.
ختان الأطفال في لبنان · circoncision enfant · circumcision pediatric urologist Lebanon Learn more →Complex conditions where reproductive or genital development differs from typical male or female patterns. Requires a multidisciplinary team approach including pediatric urology, endocrinology, genetics, and psychology for accurate diagnosis, family counseling, and individualized management.
اضطرابات التمايز الجنسي عند الأطفال · anomalies du développement sexuel enfant · DSD disorders sex development children Learn more →Fluid accumulation around the testicle causing scrotal swelling. Often resolves in infants, but persistent hydrocele beyond 12–18 months typically requires a minor surgical procedure.
انتفاخ الخصية عند الأطفال · hydrocèle enfant · scrotal swelling child Learn more →Swelling of the kidney due to urine buildup, often detected on prenatal ultrasound. Most mild cases resolve on their own, but moderate to severe hydronephrosis requires timely evaluation — untreated obstruction can lead to irreversible loss of kidney function.
توسع حوض الكلية عند الجنين · hydronéphrose fœtale · prenatal hydronephrosis Learn more →A congenital condition where the urethral opening is on the underside of the penis. Surgical repair between 6–18 months achieves excellent functional and cosmetic results when performed by a high-volume pediatric urologist. Circumcision must not be performed beforehand — the foreskin tissue is needed for repair.
عملية الإحليل التحتي · chirurgie hypospadias · hypospadias repair Learn more →A groin bulge caused by tissue passing through a weak spot in the abdominal wall. In children, surgical repair is recommended to avoid incarceration, pain, or sudden swelling.
الفتق الإربي عند الأطفال · hernie inguinale enfant · child inguinal hernia Learn more →Bladder dysfunction caused by neurological conditions such as spina bifida. Requires comprehensive management including catheterization programs, medication, and sometimes surgical augmentation.

صمامات الإحليل الخلفي · valves de l'urètre postérieur enfant · posterior urethral valves child Learn more →A rare congenital syndrome that can combine weak abdominal muscles, urinary tract dilation, and undescended testes. Management often requires staged follow-up for bladder emptying, infections, and reconstruction.
متلازمة برون بيلي · syndrome prune belly enfant · prune belly syndrome child Learn more →When one or both testicles fail to descend into the scrotum. تضيق الإحليل عند الأطفال · sténose urétrale enfant · urethral stricture rupture child Learn more →Enlarged scrotal veins, usually in adolescents, that can cause heaviness, asymmetry, or testicular growth concerns. Ultrasound and follow-up help determine when surgery is appropriate.
دوالي الخصية عند المراهقين · varicocèle adolescent · varicocele teen Learn more →When urine flows backward from the bladder to the kidneys, risking recurrent infections and permanent kidney damage if untreated. Management ranges from monitoring to surgical correction, with laparoscopic reimplantation offering high success rates and faster recovery.
